Question Building a sleek XP SP3 with nLITE...

Howdy.

As a little experiment(as if I don't already have enough to do!), I thought I would tinker with nLITE and a copy of XP to see how small a build I can make.

I have got the gist of how to drive nLITE, but am wondering if anyone here has already done what I have done - IE: Make the smallest XP install CD you can using nLITE to rebuild from the XP CD.

nLITE has what seems like MILLIONS of different things you can remove or leave in, and it is a little overwhelming

What I am aiming for:

- Smallest install possible

- Needs to retain basic drivers for VGA - any other drivers can be added later if needed, so long as you have a basic VGA point-and-click desktop.

- Classic-style desktop(aka Win98 look and feel) - no need for the eye-candy green and blue desktop of the default install.

- No background images - just black or a chosen single-colour background - images could be added later, like most other things.

- Network would be needed, so you can access home or internet networks, but remote-desktop-support is not needed, as we could use VNC for that.

- No need for any of the other bloat, including IE, Outlook Express, Themes, Schemes, Screensavers or any other pre-installed MS softwares - just the OS - anything else you want could easily be added later, as with the drivers.

As I say, tinkering now, but perhaps someone has already compiled a list of things to remove using nLITE to do what I am playing around with now - and thus make my efforts kinds pointless...

ADDITIONAL: I found this link in the nLITE forums on things not to remove, but boy - it is a looooonnnnnngggggg thread......... Working my way through it anyway.
