Blurry desktop connecting laptop to HDTV in Vista

Hi,

Ive recentlys got myself a laptop equipped with Nvidia GeForce 210 M Video card with a HDMI out.

when Ive tried to connect it to my Samsung 22" LCD TV LE 22B455 it works absolutely brilliant in 1360x768 scaling, but when I change it in my Nvidia control panel to use my Samsung as the only monitor to run 1080p or 1080i the desktop becomes all blurry, it looks like someone put up the contrast with 300%.

The strange thing is that running full hd movies from Vista works brilliantly, in other words, this only applies to the desktop and running games, videos seems to work fine in the given resolution (1080p/1080i)

Ive tried to tweak the setting in the Nvidia control panel, but for some reason the only option that could possibly make a differnce is greyed out (resize scaling for desktop flatscreen)

Could someone please guide me to what settings ive missed or if theres anything im doingin wrong here?

The O/S is Vista 32bit

OK guys, seems like Ive forgotten an important fact here.

Checking the specs for the 22" LCD TV, they only recommend a PC resolution up to 1360x768. Even though its possible to run 1920x1080 its not optimal for the PC->TV resolution.

I tried to connect it to a 40" LCD instead and voila, not perfect, but much better, which leaves me to configure two different profiles in Vista instead, one with 1360x768 for the 22" as a monitor and another with 1920x1080 for the 40"

That means Im leaving this problem for now and hoping that the next genreation of the GPU drivers will smoothen things out on the 22" as well as it is quite a new and popular LCD TV, maybe Nvidia will do something about it, who knows.

Ive spent a good 20 hours on this, so my suggestion for any others out there fighting the same problem, read the TV specs and try it on a bigger TV and compare the results!
