Computer freezes on Skype video call

Hi
I've just started using Skype and on Video call (web cam) it works fine for a few minutes and then the screen freezes and the computer has crashed. No choice except to press the big switch and reboot. It seems OK on Phone (mic only) . I have a Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop with built in web cam and running Windows Vista. It's only 6 months old and little used.
