DVI to HDMI

hi i have a 1080p samsung monitor...if i get an hdmi adapter for the monitor and my computer will i be able to run this monitor on an hdmi cable?

It should work, I use an HDMI to DVI cable going from my PS3 to my Sceptre monitor.
