connecting two laptops via wifi

hi everyone!
i have two laptops with wifi and a broadband connection via local operator.
i'm connecting my laptops to internet via a modem through wifi.
is there any way to interconnect my two laptops via wifi for file transfer as well as browsing the net on both? if it is possible, please describe how. please help!!
