Post 2 Audio Card Problems

1. My recently installed Edio Hi Live (ESS) audio card works fine for sounds but I can not install drivers for the game port. W95 Device manager says they are not installed and so the game controller is disabled. After clicking on the change driver button to install the joystick driver listed no drivers install themselves. When I install drivers from the audio card's disk and restart the computer I am told the drivers are not installed properly. Are the drivers for the joystick different and in a different folder than those used for installing the sound features of the card? I'm wondering if I have not found the right drivers or if all this is a conflict from my old card that did not uninstall properly. Someone here said to check for a gameport that needed to be enabled or disabled in my bios. There is none. What else can I try?

2. One of my games that runs in a dos window does not work with the new audio card unless I set it up to use no sounds or to use the pc speaker which sounds awful. Actually it finds the FX hardware and plays the background music but it will not play the "car sounds". If I set it up to use the sound card features it says "sound blaster card type not set". How do I set the sound blaster card type? I'm not sure I even know what type it is, but the card says it is sound blaster compatible.

Thanks for any help on either of these problems.

Les
