Unhappy CAM.PROBLEMS

I JUST BOUGHT A CAM FOR MY. COMPUTER........DID THE STEP BY STEP INSTALATION.FINE..NOW..........WHEN THE CAM IS ON MY SCREEN.I CLICK.....SETTINGS....VIDEO.SHOULD BE HIGHLITED AND ITS NOT........
CAN SOME ONE PLEASE TELL ME WHAT TO DO HERE.THANKYOU.TESSIE
