Post help with upgrading driver

system specs:

512 MB SD RAM, Mobo is Abit VP6 (dual CPU motherboard but as of now I am only running one) OS is Win 98 SE, CPU is 700E overclocked to 133 FSB, Graphics card is a GE Force 2 GTS, sound card is Soundblaster Live Value, Cable internet connection - not sure what other system specs to provide here.

i went to go upgrade my video card driver and for some odd reason - this just doesn't seem to be working. realizing that i am a complete tard when it comes to most hardware issues, i'm asking you because i have no clue what i am doing wrong. i downloaded the driver, installed and nothing. i deleted the old driver and was running in VGA mode - tried to install and the new one is not showing up. I'm really frustrated because i've been trying to play this game and it keeps bouncing me to desktop and changing my display settings or it does the other thing where it just bounces me to a blue screen with a fatal exception message. any clues here as to what i can do?

Ok a couple of things first:

What driver did you download? Since you are using an nVidia chipset you should be able to use the Detonator series, make sure you have the Win9x version...also did you extract the driver (I believe the detonator series are self-extracting, just double click on it and go from there)

I assume that you motherboard natively supports the 133 FSB, so you should have the correct bus multiplier (1/4) so your PCI bus is not being overclocked too.....if not try returning to stock settings to install the driver.
