Post Is Media Player the Best?

My WinME makes Media player the default. Is there a better player out there? RealAudio better/worse?

If I download a better one, how do I turn Media player Off?

Thanks for the help!

There are lots of players out there... better-worst up to you to decide .
I only use Real player to play RM files, so I'm not sure what other types of files it can play. It wouldn't make a good replacement for media player in any case.

The players I use are:
Sonique which is the best mp3 player I've ever used.
Infanview for most other video and picture file formats.
And I have a few players (whose names I can't recall off the top of my head) that play only VCDs.

To turn off media player I just change the file association for media files. That option should be part of the install process for whatever new replacment player you choose to use.

Good Luck

it depends on what you're trying to play.

audio files in win9x (win98s/ME) I use musicmatch, as GH says Real media I would only use for REAL MEDIA FILES.

and i do not have RM installed at ALL in winXP.

Real media has spyware/ adware in it that i don't like.

be sure to get Ad Aware.

{{FREE}}

and get the latest updates too!

I did and found 278 new spyware references in my dual boot system.

For video I like to use Rad Light. The first audio player I ever used was Winamp and still use it.
