Abit KG7 AGP slot dead?

Start of my Problem is my Mag Innovision 986FS Monitor is not getting a Signal. This problem slowly has come on and become a permanent problem now. Previously now and again i would boot up my system to find my monitor not getting a signal. (those Monitor self test message) To remedy this I would just hold the power button to restart the system before it could boot up into Windows XP. Usually a wiggle and a jiggle of the cables and booting the system back up would have my signal back.

This lead me to believe that my Cable had gone bad on the monitor. As I have had cables go bad before. However that is not the problem as currently I have that very monitor hooked up to my other system and working flawlessly.

My next thought was toward the hated Nvidia card I have Gforce2 MX 400 (I personally prefer a 3dfx card) Well this theory was eliminated when I pulled out the card placed it in my other system and once more booted up with the same 986FS monitor and Nvidia card without a problem.

This leaves me a bit disappointed in the fact if may now be the Abit KG7-Raid board I have. Never having actually owned one of these boards before I thought of them rather highly in the fact they always had good rating and where so geek friendly. However since I have had this board I have had to send it back for a faulty or lose chip set allowing me to not boot the first time I got it. Thus now I am believing it is my AGP slot carping out on me. There was only the 6 month warranty with this board as it was a online purchase So any possible way's to check this or trouble shoot and salvage the board must be tried. The board still powers up. Gives the appropriate Bios beep's and will even go into Win XP. I have discovered this back when I only had this problem randomly apron one time powering it back down to reboot and get the monitor up it had shown that it loaded Windows but not fully.

Currently I am one of the fatalities of IBM's Layoff's and can not just afford to jump up and buy another board. Or pay to take it to a shop and have it tested. So any home remedies would be appreciated.
