Post Win2k Experts!!! Help!!!

Thanks in advance for all of your inputs!!! My problem is that whenever i shut down my labtop from win 2k and pull out the power cord, my labtop would restart itself automatically! but this is not a problem with win 98 (my system is bual-boot)! so is there anyway that i can fix this little bug? i went in the registry and change the value of the key PowerdownAfterShutdown to 1, but that certainly did not fix the problem! Again Thanks for Your Inputs!!!

OK, I'm pretty clueless reagarding laptops and Win 2000...have you fiddled with your power management settings yet? This ZDNet article talks about optimizing those settings. Aside from that is there a possibility of a power supply problem? Got a warranty? Make it work for you...I realize you are outside the US

baoluanle: It's often hard to know which forum to post a problem in, and the increased popularity of this site means posts will "sink" down the page faster than ever.

However...rather than make duplicate posts, I'd recommend raising your problem up the forum page by posting a reply with more information (such as: the make and model of your computer), or just a polite request for more help.

About politeness: I'm not referring to you, I'm thinking of certain others who seem quite indignant that a post was not answered to their satisfaction.

Thumbs up

Another thought: The situation of a problem being applicable to multiple forums will be improved when ixl revises the format, but in the meantime...

Posting a request in a different forum with a cross-reference to the original forum and post might be a good idea.
