Post Windows 2000 password need help

Hey need some help,
How do i clear my windows 2000 logon password through DOS? I need the DOS command to reset it, I did it before, with win98, but cant find my book with the command. this is for a sony notebook thanks

You don't just "clear " a password in NT/2000 with Dos!

It's part of an encrypted registry file called " SAM ", you can delete it-but then you'll not be able to boot into 2000. There are third party apps { cough, cough } out there that can remove and allow you to reset a password-but they don't always work. Traditionally you just have to do a reinstall, and overwirte the old passowrd with a new one when it asks you to create an admin account.

Try this site i've had some luck using their program.
