I got the memory prob. corrected. The computer will start with no problems. NOW, the IR is not working. I took the computer apart again to check that everything was connected. The IR still is not working. I went back into start up and I get these codes with an X by the IR. DEV 103 ERR 20 FRU 1710 Any ideas???
Thanks for the help!!!!

Are you actually using the IR? Or is it juast an installed port?

When does the error show up, right after POSY or when the OS is loading, or later?

While holding down the F1 key and turning the computer on, I access easy-setup. When I go to test and test the Infrared, I get a red X by the icon and in red this message. DEV 103 ERR 20 FRU 1710.
The IR is built-in. I am trying to set up the computer so I can use the IR through a cell phone and with a palm pilot. There is a IR in front and in back of the computer. If one does not work does that mean that neither of them work?? Any help would be great!!!! Thanks!

Ok, what open IRQs di you have?

And are there any more details when you look at it in thesetup program?

You may need to rummage around on the IBM site to see if you can find that error message, but I'm guessing that either there isn't an IRQ assigned to it or that there is a conflict the the IRQ that is assigned...so look around in the options for the IR port and see what choices you have.
