Post Error Save/Delete File (window)

RE: Error Save/Deleting File (window)

I move WORD documents back in forth between my home and work computer using 3.5 disks. Many times, I’ll make changes, and often get the message below...

“Cannot(save)delete xxx [file name]: Access is denied.
Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected
and that the file is not currently in use.”

The disk is neither full or write-protected.

Here’s the issue. The only way I’ve found to be able to resave a document and/or delete files off the 3.5 disk is to do a restart of the computer. There’s an easier way, right?

I’ve closed WORD, but still get the Error Save/Deleting File window. I’ve made sure all previously opened documents are closed, but I still get the error notice. I’ve removed the 3.5 disk and reinserted it. Still, I can’t save the document nor delete a file on the 3.5 disk.

Thanks!

I don't know what version(s) of Word you're using or what OS's are involved, but see if any of these Troubleshooting Word 6.x suggestions help. Also, if you're running NT at work or home it could be a permissions issue. You might also try searching the Microsoft Knowledge Base under your specific versions.

Hope this helps!
