Does your internet connection use a proxy? You say Netscape works fine, so check its setup: Edit > Preferences > Advanced > Proxies. Take note of the setup (but don't change anything
).No go to Internet Explorer proxy setup: Tools > Internet Options > Connections... for DSL your settings are probably in "LAN Settings"? Not sure, I'm not familiar with DSL. Anyway, make sure the proxy config is the same as Netscape's. For example it may be on "Automatically Detect" when it shouldn't be. |

Hi,
I would suggest checking to make sure the version of IE 5.5 is not the one that had so many problems associated w/ it to begin with. ![]() I still use IE-5.01 (w/ all updates) and I find no problems.. also I use Netscape 4.75, and have adsl. Quote:

Open the "tools" menu and click "internet options". Click "connections" and then "lan settings". If you have a direct connection to the internet then none of the boxes on this page should be choosen.
Hope this helps |
