Router IP

Hey all if I have a router is the IP of the router my IP address??/
Or does my router have another address to the outside world?
If my router does have another Ip address where do I find it?

In other words does my router have a different address than my IP?
And can my router be accessed by another location other than my LAN?

I assume you have cable or DSL.

If so, the router gets the "PUBLIC" IP address from the ISP. Most routers are setup to give each PC on the network a "private" IP address. Any request for the internet is captured by the router which routs the traffic to the internet or ISP with the "PUBLIC" IP address.

To see how visible your computer is go to:

Sheilds Up

and choose the options for sheilds up and run th tests
