DISH Network Sirius stream capture?
OK, here's my setup:
ATI AIW 9600 Pro>DISH Network receiver I can watch Sat TV in a window on my PC which I love. Now, I also get Sirius Radio via the DISH receiver as well. Is there a way to capture the audio from the Sirius channels I receive? I might add that I also have a Creative Live! Drive with the front RCA female plugs. Specifically, I have an Aux in L/R ( white and red ) female. I also have an audio out on the DISH receiver. Seems I could run the audio out of the DISH receiver into the 2 Aux in but, how to capture the audio? There must be a way to do this. Ideally, be able to also capture the song title/band info as well. Any thoughts/help on this appreciated. |

If you're gonna stream it through the red/white "RCA" jacks, it will be an analog stereo audio transfer, and that means, you wont get those digital-radio bells and whistles, like the artist/title of the track, the station, etc...
how much are you going to record? One song at a time, or like, three hours at a time? for song by song, get any multitracking audio software, like adobe audition (free trial), or n-track studio is good and free i believe. for longer recordings, check this link for titles... http://www.download.com/3120-20_4-0....ure&tg=dl-2001 |

DISH stream..
I'd just like to know IF and HOW at this stage. I never gave it any other thought until awhile ago. I know I can use some apps to grab Rhaposody and other streams but, since this is not necessarily over the net I wondered if they'd work. I guess what I'd really like to know if someone else has a similar setup and what did they do to grab the audio.
I'll keep plugging away. Thanks for the heads up...I'll check those out. |

If all you want to do is grab the audio:
If you have 2 pc's, plug your line out on pc 'A' to your line in on pc 'B'. Using something along the lines of MusicMatch JukeBox or similar audio rippers for use with line in grabbing cassette recordings etc, set pc 'B' to record. Play the streaming media off the internet and as it plays it will record to the other pc. The tag info will not be transferred however. You can use NERO, other ripping softs, even Sound Recorder in Windows can handle it. With Sound recorder, initially you are limited to 60 seconds. Save that, reopen it and press record again. Save that, reopen it and press record again, letting it capture blank space. By now you should have a 3 minute blank recording. Make several copies of the file. Do this as many times neccessary, then record into any of those files, any music of your choosing. Set the quality of the recording first though. ![]()

http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Belki...oductDetail.do plug the red/white RCAs into an auxilary audio out of your dish box. Plug the other into the line in on your PC. get software, audacity or whatever you want to use, and hit record. stereo recording should be configured automatically and all should be easy. make sure you open your volume control panel, goto options>properties>recording button, and make sure the line in isn't muted, and the volume is up. |
