The time has almost come! Samsung is set to launch its next three new smartphones in the Galaxy S-series this week. What better time than the present to start seeing how these three models will compare? Keep reading to learn the difference between the Samsung Galaxy S23 vs S23 Plus vs S23 Ultra.

At the moment, Samsung has not officially launched these smartphones to the market but this doesn’t mean we can’t have a look at what rumors and leaks are already out there.

We have collected all the information about these upcoming models so you don’t have to. So without further ado, let’s see what new specs and features these three models will have.

Samsung Galaxy S23 vs S23 Plus vs S23 Ultra cameras

Starting with the camera, it appears only the S23 Ultra will receive a camera hardware upgrade this year. The premium model is rumored to have a new 200MP main camera, a significant improvement over the S22 Ultra’s 108MP camera.

For the other S23 models, Samsung is expected to rely on the Galaxy S22 camera specifications. Nevertheless, this does not mean photo quality won’t be improved. We expect that Samsung will make upgrades in internal image-processing, resulting in a boost in image quality in this aspect.

Here is a summary of the expected S23 camera features.

Samsung Galaxy S23 vs S23 Plus vs S23 Ultra processor

Now, onto processors. Rumors suggest Samsung will abandon the use of the Exynos processor in their upcoming flagships.

So, what processor will the new Galaxy S23 series have? We expect all three phones to feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, offering 35% faster performance and 40% improved efficiency compared to the S22’s Gen 1. These improvements show that the S23 is shaping up to be a stronger performer than its predecessor.

But that is not all, there are also rumors of Samsung using an overclocked version of the processor as well as improving its cooling capabilities. Looks like we may see the day were Samsung’s chipset surpasses Apple’s A16 Bionic chip in performance!

Samsung Galaxy S23 vs S23 Plus vs S23 Ultra storage & memory

For the Galaxy S22 last year, Samsung offered 128GB and 256GB storage options. It’s rumored the Galaxy S23 models will start at 256GB, but some sources suggest 128GB may also be available. As for the Galaxy S23 Ultra, expect to see a 512GB and 1TB option available too.

Similar to the S22, the S23 is likely to have 8GB RAM, with a possible improvement. The S22 has 8GB LPDDR5 memory, but rumors suggest the S23 will feature the upgraded 8GB LPDDR5X memory.

It is not quite clear what impact this change will have but once the new smartphones are released this week, we will have a better idea. As for the S23 Ultra, rumor has it that there will be two RAM options: 8GB and 12GB!

Samsung Galaxy S23 vs S23 Plus vs S23 Ultra screen

The older Galaxy S22 boasts a stunning, bright, and sharp display. From what we know so far, it appears Samsung won’t be making significant upgrades to the Galaxy S23 screen.

What can we expect from the S23’s display? The S22 features a 6.1-inch screen with 1440 x 3088 resolution and an adaptive refresh rate of 1-120 Hz. It’s highly likely the S23 will have similar specs, including the refresh rate, meaning no new changes in this area.

As for the S23 Plus, we definitely expect it to have a similar refresh rate to the S23 as well as last year’s 6.6-inch(FHD) screen. Finally the S23 Ultra. Expect to see something similar to last year – a 6.8-inch(QHD) panel screen.

  • Samsung Galaxy S23 – $799
