SAMSUNG 27” Odyssey OLED G6 G60SF Gaming Monitor

QHD QD-OLED, 500Hz Refresh Rate, 0.03ms (GtG) Response Time, G-Sync Compatible, VESA DisplayHDR TrueBlack 500, LS27FG602SNXZA, 2025, 3 Yr Warranty

Key features of this SAMSUNG 27” Odyssey OLED G6 Gaming Monitor

QHD and QD-OLED

This monitor is essentially an enhanced OLED, as its QD-OLED panel combines Quantum Dot and OLED technology for improved brightness and better color, all the while preserving its excellent contrast ratio. This is the type of monitor that’s brilliant for showcasing games and other content at their best, with lifelike picture quality.

500Hz refresh rate

This refresh rate is one of the highest you can get for a QHD monitor, and it’s designed with very high fps gaming and high-end gaming PCs in mind. It also features a lightning-fast response time of 0.03ms, which means you’ll be able to clearly track what’s happening on-screen, without motion blur or ghosting.

VESA DisplayHDR TrueBlack 500

This is a certification that basically indicates that the contrast, color, and peak brightness are very impressive, as it’s a level higher than your typical VESA DisplayHDR TrueBlack 400 rating certification found with most OLED monitors. With this Samsung display, you can expect incredibly deep blacks and a peak brightness of 1000 nits, which is not to be confused with ‘typical’ brightness, which will be a fair bit lower.

AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and G-Sync compatible

Both are vital for reducing screen tearing and stutter when gaming, with FreeSync Premium Pro being particularly adept at handling framerate drops and HDR content.

OLED safeguard+

This monitor features a dynamic cooling and thermal modulation system that works to keep the screen as cool as possible to prevent burn-in. For instance, it can automatically detect taskbars on-screen and other static images and adjust brightness accordingly.

Slim metal design, CoreLighting+, and CoreSync

Alongside its super slim, metallic finish design, you’ve also got Samsung’s aRGB lighting system, which can be customized or synced to what’s happening on its screen.

Things to consider

As with pretty much all OLEDs, they’re not too bright, and this makes them not the best for well-lit rooms. If you want something for a room with a load of windows, potentially even to double up as a TV for the daytime, then you’ll want to lean towards mini-LED options instead. These are far brighter than OLEDs, as they’re more traditionally backlit, but thanks to their smaller LEDs, they can also provide decent contrast and amazing color, too.
