Alienware 27 Gaming Monitor – AW2725DM
What we like about this Alienware gaming monitor
Great for high frame rate gaming
This gaming monitor has a 180Hz refresh rate, which is a good level for most mid-tier QHD gaming PCs without being unessarily overkill and expensive. It will allow for up to 180fps at 1440p, and thanks to its low 1ms response time and AMD FreeSync technology, you should be able to game without screen tearing, blur, stuttering, or ghosting, too.
QHD resolution on a 27-inch screen
This combo is the sweet spot when it comes to size, resolution, and price. 27-inch makes 1440p resolution look very crisp, and these monitors are far cheaper than 4K alternatives. Plus, you don’t need a supercomputer to use it either, as many of the best graphics cards for 1440p come in at around $500 in most cases. It’s also a good size for competitive gaming, as it’s not too bi that it puts you at a disadvantage.
Good HDR rating and color
DisplayHDR 400 certifications indicate that a monitor can achieve a good level of brightness, has a wide color range, and excellent contrast. Not every affordable monitor has this, but thankfully, this does. What that means is that this is going to be bright enough for well-lit rooms, can display vibrant colors, and even be used for professional-level creative work, thanks to its DCI-P3 95% rating.
Great-looking design and very practical, too
As always, Alienware knocks it out of the park when it comes to design. This monitor looks great with its thin bezels and sleek finishing, but it’s also super practical, too. You’ve got simplified cable management, a small footbase to keep your deskspace clear, and even some impressive ventilation to help with heat dissipation.

Who’s this deal for?
This gaming monitor would be great for any setup, in all honesty, and delivers on both performance and aesthetics, as is commonly the case with Alienware products. We’d say that this would be ideal for those looking to keep costs down, but still add a premium touch to their setup. It’s better suited to low to middle-range 1440p gaming PCs, though, as you’d be better off with a mini-LED or QD-OLED monitor if you’ve got something capable of 200fps+, or if you wanted even better HDR performance.
