What we like about this iBuyPower Y40 Pro gaming PC
Excellent graphics card for 1440p and even 4K gaming
The RTX 5070 Ti is a great card to go for if you want something that will perform very well at 1440p at max settings, and be able to handle some 4K with the help of DLSS and MFG. It boasts a decent 16GB of next-gen GDDR7 VRAM, which is more than the 5070’s 12GB, and also in line with the RX 9070 XT, and has similar performance. When it comes to gaming performance, Indiana Jones: The Great Circle is always a good benchmark to use, as it’s a particularly demanding game, and it can use a lot of VRAM. According to some reviews, this card was able to get an impressive 123fps at 1440p and 81fps at 4K at max settings with no DLSS. With DLSS quality and max frame generation, it was able to get 150fps at 1440p. For professional creatives and content creators, it’s also a great choice, largely thanks to its Blackwell architecture and GDDR7 memory. This allows you to use very demanding applications with ease, and the card also excels at AI tasks, too.
Powerful gaming processor, for a great price
The Ryzen 9 7900X is still one of the best processors you can get from AMD, and in our review, we scored it a very high 4.5 stars, noting its very strong multi-core performance and ability to support even some of the highest-end graphics cards. Even against the X3D models available on the market, this still holds its own and even beats them in some areas. For instance, you’ve got a much higher core and thread count (12+24) than the likes of the Ryzen 7 9800X3D, and even a higher boost clock speed of 5.6GHz. Even the L3 cache is 64MB, which is around double the size of most of the ‘X’ offerings you’d sometimes find in these RTX 5070Ti builds. Overall, if you want a seriously good CPU that’s going to handle pretty much anything you can throw at it, but also isn’t too expensive, then this is a great way to go.
Loads of RAM and storage
This build has opted for 32GB of DDR5 RAM, which has memory speeds of 5200MHz. This is enough RAM to be able to handle games with much larger asset libraries, so if you’re playing anything heavily modded or open-world, then this is going to be good for you. It’s also good if you’re someone who runs multiple applications at the same time and wants to keep everything feeling as responsive as possible. Having this amount of RAM can really optimize workflows, especially if you’re someone working with very large files and data.
On the SSD side, you’ve got a Gen4 2TB NVMe device here, which is more than enough for most people and far superior to the standard 1TB we’d see in more affordable builds. This can easily store over ten large AAA games, and still leave you with enough room for loads of files. If you’re planning on using this PC as much for gaming as you are for content creation, video editing, or productivity, then this size SSD is ideal.
Who’s this deal for?
Coming in at $2,069.99, this is actually a very good price for an RTX 5070Ti gaming PC with a powerful processor like the Ryzen 9 7900X, and well worth the money if you ask us. It’s a great PC primarily for 1440p gaming at maxed out settings, and while it can do 4K, we’d say it’s worth investing a little more into an RTX 5080 build instead. These, at their lowest, can be found for around $2300 in the sales, so check out some of our other top PC deals below to see what’s out there, if you’re interested.
