What we like about this Thermaltake LCGS View

Excellent card for 1440p and 4K

The RX 9070 XT is a brilliant graphics card to go for if you’re looking for a great price-to-performance ratio. Where it draws a lot of attention is its hefty amount of VRAM, which comes in at 16GB of older-gen GDDR6. This allows this card to be much better at dealing with higher resolutions and textures. It also features 4096 cores, a larger 56-bit bus, and 1660MHz base/ 2970MHz boost clock speed. Since this card is one of AMD’s RDNA 4 GPUs, you can use FSR 4. This is the more advanced version of FSR, and greatly improves performance in much the same way Nvidia’s DLSS does. In terms of gaming performance, in our review, we saw it reach RTX 4080 levels, which, again, for the price, is pretty amazing.

Very good CPU for gaming

You’ve got the impressive Ryzen 7 7800X3D processor in this build, which features 8 cores, 16 threads, a 5GHz boost clock speed, and massive 96MB L3 cache. This was one of the best CPUs for gaming when it was released, and it still holds its own with the top graphics cards on the market. Its L3 cache is quite special, as it’s stacked to allow for much more data to be stored and accessed quickly by the CPU. This greatly reduces frame latency and enhances overall gaming performance. Overall, it’s an excellent CPU to have at your disposal.

Decent amount of RAM and storage

This isn’t the most expensive build, so a 1TB SSD is pretty standard, but still more than enough for you to have a few large AAA games on rotation without running out of room. The RAM is actually quite impressive, as you’re getting a solid 32GB of 5600MT/s speed DDR5. That’s going to be enough for you to easily run open-world games and have loads of applications open at the same time without much slowdown.

How will this gaming PC perform?

To give you an idea of how this PC will perform, we can use our benchmarks from testing an ASUS Prime RX 9070 XT. In short, it’s very impressive at both 1440p and 4K, even with ray tracing in the mix. Cyberpunk 2077 saw 129fps at 1440p, 51fps at 1440p with ray tracing, and 61fps at 4K, 25fps at 4K with ray tracing. With Doom Eternal, we saw it hit 249fps at 1440p with ray tracing and 154fps at 4K with ray tracing. And for demanding games like F1 24, it was able to hit 131fps at 1440p and 75fps at 4K. In many ways, it’s similar to the likes of the RTX 5070 Ti, but honestly, we think it may be better value if you don’t mind missing out on Nvidia’s advanced AI features like MFG and DLSS 4.

Who’s this deal for?

We’d say, for under $2000, you’re getting something that looks and performs very well without completely breaking the bank. This would be brilliant for those who want to enjoy games at 100fps+ at 1440p, and occasionally play more graphically demanding titles in 4K at ultra settings, at decent framerates, too. If you’re looking for something even better for 4K, then we’d say you’ll want to check out either the RTX 5080 options or the RX 7900XTX prebuilds, the latter of which are only a little more expensive but have 24GB of VRAM.
