This CPU was released back in October 2022 and met with very favorable reviews. It’s built on the LGA 1700 socket, which means it’s easy to install, works with 12th, 13th, and 14th gen Core processors, and supports the latest DDR5 RAM. This is unlike the newer LGA 1851 socket, which the latest line of Core Ultra CPUs use.
It boasts 24 cores (8 performance and 16 efficiency) and 32 threads. This is a good balance between the raw power needed for highly intensive tasks such as gaming or rendering, and tasks that require less power, and could do with being more efficiently carried out. As expected, the higher boost clock speeds are found in the P cores, and with this, you’re getting 5.8 GHz. That is way up there with some of the best CPUs on the market and makes for an excellent option for gaming.
In our review a few things stood out to us. We were very impressed with its excellent gaming performance, particularly when paired with a high-end RTX 40-series graphics card. The only other gripe we had was the pricing compared to the 14th gen alternative nearer release. That’s where deals like this come in and make it a much more appealing for a mid-level PC build.
