The RX 7900XTX is an excellent graphics card for both 1440p and 4K gaming, and it’s now down $160 at Amazon. This XFX Speedster can be snapped up for just $859.99, reduced from its list price of $1,019.99, and we think it’s a smart pick for anyone looking for as much VRAM as possible for their money, especially considering many of the alternative 50-series models have far less.

What we like about the XFX Speedster RX 7900XTX

Excellent 4K performance for the price

The RX 7900XTX is one of the best bang-for-your-buck graphics cards for 4K right now. You get a large 24GB of GDDR6 VRAM here, which, while older, is significantly more than some of the similarly priced Nvidia alternatives, which tend to hover around 16GB. This allows it to handle higher resolutions and textures in more demanding titles much better, as we found in our review of an ASUS RX 7900XTX a while back. Take a look below for how it faired at max/ ultra settings:

XFX MERC Triple Fan Cooling Solution

This XFX Speedster offers exceptional cooling performance, thanks to its triple-fan design, which allows for stable performance under heavy loads. As with some similar models in the lineup, these fans have dual-ball bearings, which are designed for both durability and noise levels.

DisplayPort 2.1 support

This card features DisplayPort 2.1 support, which is what you need if you want extremely high refresh rates. This is ideal for those playing fast-paced games at 1440p with this card, especially those who are more competitive gamers. It’s also future-proof in many senses, as it accommodates very resolutions like 8K at 60Hz without any compression. That’s great if you want to upgrade your monitor in the future, but don’t want to have to pay for an entirely new graphics card to go with it. Plus, it’s also good for multi-monitor setups, too.

Who’s this deal for, and is it good value?

So this deal would be great for anyone looking for something outstanding for both 1440p and 4K, who wants as much VRAM as possible for their money. Coming in at $859.99, it’s very reasonably priced, even compared to some of the discount RTX 50-series equivalents we’re seeing, and it’s certianly less expensive than the RTX 5080, which only has 16GB of VRAM. As you can see from the graph above, its lowest ever price was last year in October; however, it does look like now would be a good time to grab it on a downward trend.
