Samsung 24-Inch Odyssey G3 (G30D) Series FHD Gaming Monitor
What we like about this Samsung 24-inch Odyssey G3 gaming monitor
High refresh rate and low response time
This gaming monitor has a 180Hz refresh rate, which allows for up to 180fps, roughly speaking, at 1080p. That’s a decent amount for a monitor at this price point, and not overkill for more budget-oriented PC setups, like those with an RTX 5060 or equivalent, for instance. The good thing is, that it also has a low response time of 1ms GTG, which will mean that you’re getting super smooth onscreen motion, even at high fps, too. That’s great for fast-paced competitive gaming.
FreeSync
Essential for reducing screen tearing when gaming, which can be super distracting to say the least. This adaptive sync technology works by dynamically synchronizing this monitor’s refresh rate with the GPU’s frame rate, so it basically adapts in real-time, hence the name. If you’re playing at games that jump up and down in frames, then this will help keep things smooth.

Excellent size for the resolution
Pixel density is, like the name suggests, the density of pixels in a certain area. At this resolution, to preserve picture quality, you need to have a smaller screen. The biggest you can go without impacting clarity too much would be 27 inches, in our view, and even then, we think you’re better off going for QHD resolution instead. At 24 inches, though, 1080p looks brilliant and sharp. We think it’s the best size for the resolution, and really makes the most out of it, while keeping costs down.
Stylish design for a budget monitor
Samsung really is one of the best in the game when it comes to design, and we see that on display here with this monitor. A few features that stand out to us would be the super-thin bezels, stylish but functional ergonomic stand, and visually interesting backplate. For the price, this monitor looks super premium and would look epic when paired with a great-looking PC.
Who’s this deal for?
Coming in at $109.99, we think this is a no-brainer for anyone looking for something speedy for 1080p gaming. It’s more of a competitive gaming monitor than it is something to showcase your games at their very best, and it’s only 250 nits, but none of that really matters if you’re using it primarily for reflex-based shooters, for instance. For a 1080p build or prebuilt PC, like an RTX 5060 8GB, for example, this would be ideal.
