Black Friday may be coming in fast, but we’re already seeing some excellent discounts pop up at major retailers. Case in point, this fantastic LG 34-inch Ultragear gaming monitor, which is now a massive 51% off, reduced from $1,399.99 to $679.73, and at its lowest price again on Amazon thanks to a limited-time deal. This monitor packs an impressive OLED, WQHD display, with a very high 240Hz refresh rate and low response time. It also features a steep 800R curve for maximum immersion, and LG’s signature super sleek design, too. This deal is a showstopper and well worth it at its current price.

LG 34GX 34-inch Ultragear OLED Curved Gaming Monitor

240Hz, 1ms, NVIDIA G-Sync Compatible, AMD FreeSync Premium, VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400, webOS, USB Type-C, White

What we like about this LG 34-inch Ultragear gaming monitor

Fast & responsive

This monitor has a very high 240Hz refresh rate and low 0.03ms response time, allowing you to game at very high framerates, without having to experience motion blur or ghosting. That’s great for those who want an overall smoother gaming experience, but it’s also essential if you’re playing anything competitive, as blur and afterimages can occur with high response times, making it very difficult to track opponents on screen. It also features AMD FreeSync Premium and G-Sync to reduce screen tearing and make on-screen motion even more fluid.

Outstanding picture quality

OLED monitors are some of the best you can get when it comes to picture quality, delivering the good, especially with contrast and color. This monitor has an impressive 1.5M:1 contrast ratio, which is far superior to your more traditional backlit displays. It also features 98.5% DCI-P3 color, which means that it can reproduce an extremely wide color range, making it ideal for creative professionals, such as video editors or graphic designers. In terms of brightness, this monitor has a DisplayHDR 400 rating, which is a good indicator that it’s bright enough for most well-lit rooms. The anti-glare coating will also come in handy in this regard.

Immersive design

Coming in at 34 inches, it’s on the slightly smaller side compared to some other ultrawide gaming monitors, but thanks to the steep 800R curve, it’s excellent for immersion. This monitor essentially wraps around you, transporting you into whatever you’re playing. It’s the type of monitor that’s excellent for simulators or open-world games, where the more immersion, the better the experience.

Smart monitor functionality

This monitor, thanks to webOS24, can be used to access your favorite streaming platforms and even cloud-based games, without being connected to a console or PC. This is particularly good if you’re short on space and need something that can double up as a smart TV.

Considerations before you buy

This is a very good monitor if you’re going for all-out immersion, and if you’ve got a decent gaming PC to make the most out of it, it’ll really showcase your games in all their glory, too. That being said, you may want to consider monitors with a more subtle curve if you plan on using this for creative work, especially graphic design. That’s simply because the curve can make it difficult to judge proportions. This is primarily a gaming monitor, and while it could be used for some video editing, we’d say if that’s going to be the majority of your usage, you should look at some of LG’s UltraFine options instead.
