Skytech Gaming Aqua Desktop PC, NVIDIA RTX 5070 12GB
What we like about this Skytech Gaming Aqua PC
Excellent value graphics card for 1440p gaming
The RTX 5070 is one of the best graphics cards from the 50-series if you’re looking for something relatively affordable for 1440p. It features 6144 CUDA cores, a 192-bit bus, and 12GB of new and improved GDDR7 VRAM. Since it’s built on Nvidia’s new Blackwell Architecture, the card itself is far more efficient and features new AI capabilities, including MFG and DLSS 4, which can be used to drastically improve gaming performance.
Top-tier Intel processor
Interestingly, even though this build has a mid-range graphics card, it’s opted for a very high-end processor. The Intel Ultra 9 285K is one of the very best and most versatile CPUs you can get, and it’s an excellent option if you’re looking for something very capable when it comes to multitasking, gaming, and heavy-duty productivity tasks. Compared to the commonly seen X3D processors, its spec sheet certainly gives them a run for their money. This CPU features 24 cores, 24 threads, a boost clock speed of 5.7Ghz, and a large 36MB L3 cache, putting it firmly up there with the best processors on the market.
Loads of RAM and decent storage
This build features 32GB of DDR5 RAM, with 6000Mhz memory speeds, which is some of the fastest you can get. It also has a 1TB SSD, which is decent, but on the smaller side if you’re using this for more than just storing games. In any case, it’ll hold around eight large AAA games and still give you some room for your other files.
How will this PC perform?
You can check out our full review of an RTX 5070 to explore performance metrics in depth, but in short, you can expect it to easily hit over 100fps at 1440p, and in most cases, over 100fps with ray tracing enabled, aside from demanding titles like Cyberpunk 2077, where it gets closer to 45fps at 1440p. With DLSS and MFG, it obviously boosts frame rates higher and improves performance, which you could use for 4K; however, we found that the 12GB of VRAM was a limiter with higher resolutions.
Who’s this deal for?
This PC is going to be good for those looking for something great for 1440p gaming at ultra settings, heavy-duty productivity, and moderate to heavy creative work. For the price, it’s pretty impressive, given that it has a very high-end processor, too. If you want something that’s going to be even better for 1440p and even a little 4K, check out some of the RTX 5070 Ti models instead. Some of these can be found between $2000 and $2300 when reduced, and thanks to their large 16GB of VRAM, they’re much better at handling higher resolution, more detailed textures, and more.
