Amazon Prime deal knocks the Ryzen 9 7900X to lowest price since Black Friday

Table of Contents
AMD’s 9000 series is a good pick if you’re building a new system, but what if you already have a 7000 chip and want to maximize value? If productivity prowess is important to you, the Ryzen 9 7900X is a solid option, especially at its new deal price.
Ahead of Prime Day, a new ‘with Prime’ Amazon deal has delivered the best price since Black Friday. Dropping the 7900X below its $549 list price isn’t the highlight here, since that price is a distant memory. However, at $303, it’s $30 below its average price (according to Camelcamelcamel), and the cheapest since Black Friday!
Prime Day may have closed its doors, but that hasn't stopped great deals from landing on the web's biggest online retailer. Here are all the best last chance savings from this year's Prime event.

AMD Ryzen™ 9 7900X CPU
Why we love the AMD Ryzen 9 7900X
Okay, so the 7900X isn’t in our list of the best CPUs with integrated graphics, but there are plenty of great CPUs. This is a great pick for any mixed-use system where productivity is core. Outgunned in gaming by the 7900X3D, our 7900X review shows this CPU can work and play hard.
- Core specs – AMD’s Ryzen 9 7900X has 12 cores, 24 threads, and is a high-performance CPU.
- Performance highlights – This processor thrives in multi-core scenarios and is also good for gaming. It can easily be paired with the best graphics card on the market.
- Socket AM5 – A first-gen Socket AM5 CPU, the 7900X offers a good balance of value and performance.
- Cooler – No cooler is included with this processor, but an effective all-in-one is recommended.
Who is this AMD CPU deal for?
The Ryzen 9 7900X is in an interesting spot. If you’re building a new system, the 9000 series is a more likely option unless cost is an issue. If that’s the case, then the 7900X is still an excellent option in 2025, easily supporting the best graphics cards on the market.
Alternatively, if you have a less powerful 7000 series CPU installed, upgrading to this for a drop-in boost keeps the 9000 series (and beyond) as a potential option. You’ll certainly see a performance boost from, say, the 7600X, and the 7900X should last years before it needs replacing. Whatever the reason, the current deal is excellent, as is this processor.
