MSI RTX 5070 Gaming Trio OC performance

In this section, we’ll showcase the gaming and synthetic output of this GPU.

Gaming

We paired this GPU with the Ryzen 7 9800X3D and ran a few AAA titles at FHD, QHD, and UHD resolutions. In Indian Jones and the Great Circle, it managed 199 FPS at 1080p, 151 FPS at 1440p, and 80 FPS at 4K. In Cyberpunk 2077, we got 167, 107, and 48 FPS, while in less demanding titles like CS2, it easily churned out 352 FPS at FHD, 246 FPS at QHD, and 129 FPS at UHD.

What this showcases is that 1440p is best suited for this GPU, and while it can run games at 4K, its performance isn’t consistent, and you’ll need to use DLSS 4 to ramp up the framerates.

Synthetic

The synthetic output of this GPU wasn’t the best, but it did a decent job. For example, in Blender Monster, it churned out 2,991 points while the RTX 4080 managed 4,302 points. The AI performance of this GPU also couldn’t compete with the 4080, and the RX 9070 XT outperformed it in nearly every test. So, when it comes to productivity, technologies like DLSS 4 can’t pull the weight, and that was apparent during our testing.

Who’s this deal for?

This deal is excellent for anyone who is putting together a mid-range graphics card and wants to experience smooth gameplay at 1440p. That being said, 4K gaming is also possible, but not the most stable without leveraging DLSS 4 and MFG. The only downside is that if you’ve got non-gaming workflows to take care of as well, this GPU isn’t the best option, but that doesn’t mean it’ll be a complete dud.

What that means is that when it comes to productivity, it won’t have the same value for money that you’d get from it in gaming. So, for that, we’d recommend checking out other GPUs like the RX 9070 XT or even the RTX 5070 Ti. On the other hand, if gaming is all you plan on doing, then this is a good GPU to get your hands on.
