AMD’s RX 9070 plummets to a new low price, close to MSRP, in an Amazon deal
Table of Contents
When it comes to picking out a new graphics card, there’s a whole host of options to choose from right now. But right now, the latest range of AMD GPUs is a great value option to go for, with the RDNA 4 range bringing plenty of value to performance. Being released in March 2025, the RX 9070 is the lower-tier of the two cards that came out and drops back on some of the performance for a lower cost.
Well, right now, the PowerColor Hellhound is available with a 20% discount, dropping it to $559.99, just $10 above the MSRP of the card. Dropping it to the lowest price yet for the model, according to price tracking sites, it has $140 knocked off its asking price on Amazon as it falls from the $700 full price.
PowerColor Hellhound AMD Radeon RX 9070 16GB GDDR6
PowerColor Hellhound AMD Radeon RX 9070 features
High-Efficiency DrMOS Power Module
Built for reliability and performance, the Hellhound features an 8+1 phase power design with a dedicated 3+2 phase memory power supply. Equipped with conductive polymer capacitors, it delivers long lifespan, high conversion efficiency, and reduced power loss during transmission, ensuring stable support for every gamer.
High-Quality PCB Design
The 12-layer high thermal conductivity PCB with a 2oz power layer minimizes signal attenuation during high-frequency transmission. This advanced design meets the stability and high-current demands of next-generation GPUs.
High-Thermal Conductivity Honeywell PTM7950
Utilizing phase-change thermal material (PTM7950), micro gaps between the GPU and heatsink are rapidly filled during high-load operation, greatly improving heat transfer and thermal efficiency.
High-Efficiency Ring Blade Fans
Engineered for gaming enthusiasts, the exclusive ring blade design with up to nine blades increases fan speed and airflow while maintaining low noise. Enhanced air pressure and cooling efficiency deliver a consistently cool and quiet experience.
Intelligent Fan Controller
A smart temperature detection chip automatically activates fans at 60°C and stops them below 50°C, balancing efficient cooling with reduced noise. This intelligent control also helps extend product lifespan through precise thermal management.
Low-Turbulence Reverse Fan Design
The outer two fans rotate in reverse, effectively minimizing air turbulence and improving intake efficiency. The result is stronger airflow, better air pressure, and lower noise levels, for smoother, quieter cooling during intense gameplay.
Reinforced Metal Backplate
Crafted from durable metal, the backplate strengthens the structure to prevent PCB bending and component damage. Integrated ventilation holes enhance heat dissipation, ensuring long-term stability and protection under heavy loads.
Optimum Heatpipe Arrangement
A set of six 6φ nickel-plated copper heatpipes runs closely above the PCB to quickly transfer heat from the GPU and VRAM to the cooling array, ensuring efficient thermal management during demanding performance.
GPU Direct-Contact Copper Plate
A large, smooth nickel-plated copper base directly contacts the GPU and memory, providing rapid and even heat absorption for stable cooling even during high-speed operation.
Dual BIOS Mode
Switch between two optimized performance modes with ease:
- OC BIOS: Increases fan RPM for lower temperatures and maximum performance.
- Silent BIOS: Prioritizes quieter operation and longer fan life with a balanced performance-to-temperature ratio.
Why we like this RX 9070 deal
The top AMD graphics cards have been an impressive set of GPUs. As we found in our RX 9070 XT review, it received 4.5 stars out of 5. Now we haven’t reviewed the non-XT version, but it should carry a similar level of impressiveness for the price to performance on offer with the chip on board.
Along with 16GB of VRAM on board, it offers a lot of memory capacity for the latest games and use cases. It also gains a great score of reviews on the retailer, with an average of 4.4 out of 5 stars from over 1,400 ratings. The PowerColor model is praised for its quality, value for money, speed, noise level, and cooling.
That all comes at the lowest price the GPU model has seen, according to CamelCamelCamel, as seen in the graph below. Offering a significant discount over the usual price, it sits at, making it a top contender for your PC upgrade.
