What we like and don’t like about the Ryzen 9 9900X

The Ryzen 9 9900X certainly has its place as a powerful processor and, even with more recent releases, still brings a lot to the table. In our review, we were impressed with its power efficiency and single-core uplift, however, we felt it was slightly held back and had relatively standard multi-core performance. One of the biggest gripes we had was with the original pricing, which is what makes its current price so appealing. We’ve seen this CPU gradually fall away from its MSRP over time, and we think it’s a much better value proposition at $352 than close to $500.
