ASUS ROG Strix G17 (2023) Gaming Laptop 17.3” QHD 240Hz
What we like about the ASUS ROG Stix G17 (2023) gaming laptop
So the ASUS ROG Strix line up is very much pointed to those who want performance, but also some extra bells and whistles too, in contrast to the more budget-friendly, basic ASUS TUF Gaming line up. With this laptop you’re getting everything you need for QHD gaming, but you’re also getting pretty eye-catching design to boot, plus a much higher spec display that’s great for both gaming and everyday usage.
In terms of pricing, it’s more expensive than your typical RTX 4060 model, but if you want something for higher resolution gaming at higher fps, then it’s not much more of a premium to pay to get it.
- Powerful GPU: Arguably the best GPU for laptops from a price to performance perspective, and can handle 1440p at high-settings easily.
- Excellent CPU: The Ryzen 9 7945HX has 16 cores, 32 threads, a 5.4 GHZ boost clock, and 64MB of L3 cache. Overall, it’s a very good processor for gaming, but also more than capable of handling multi-tasking and heavier duty productivity loads too.
- Top-tier screen: You’re getting a larger than average screen with a super-high 240hz refresh rate. It’s also got a decent 3ms response time for smoother on-screen movement.
- WIFI 6E: One of the best connectivity options out there, ideal for competitive gaming, streaming, and more.
- Latest RAM: You’ve got 16GB of DDR5 RAM here, which is around twice as fast as DDR4.
Who’s this deal for and is it the best time to buy?
Even though this laptop is marketed more towards gaming, it’s actually a very versatile option thanks to its powerful CPU. We’d say that for QHD gaming this is a real winner, but if you’re a content creator this laptop will be able to handle pretty much anything you can throw at it too.
As you can see from the graph above from price tracker camelcamelcamel, this deal has yet to register. However, its current price of $1,759.40 puts it below its lowest price of 2025, making it a brilliant opportunity to score this laptop for less.
