Black Friday may be just around the corner, but it looks like there are already some cracking deals rolling in, especially on graphics cards. We’ve spotted this ASRock Challenger Radeon RX 9070 XT 16GB at its lowest price in 30 days at Newegg, which now comes in at $599.99. This card is excellent if you’re looking for something great for 1440p gaming and 4K, without the price tag of the similar RTX 5070 Ti. We think it’s one of the best graphics cards when it comes to value for money, and well worth checking out if you’re looking to build a powerful, yet cost-effective gaming PC.

Key features and specs of this ASRock Challenger Radeon RX 9070 XT
The RX 9070 XT is one of the best price-to-performance ratio graphics cards you can get, and offers excellent performance at 1440p and can also be used for 4K, with a few tweaks to settings and using FSR. This card features 4096 cores, 16GB of GDDR6 memory, a 256-bit bus, and a 1660MHz base clock, which can be boosted to 2970 MHz, which is an impressive offering considering its under $600.
In terms of cooling, you’ve got three Striped Axial Fans, designed to maximize airflow but also run quietly, a phase-change thermal pad to bridge the gap between the GPU and thermal module, and features such as high-density metal welding to further improve heat dissipation. The fans can also turn off completely when the GPU is not under heavy loads.
When it comes to design, you’ve got a tasteful LED light strip, which can be turned on and off via a flick of a switch. It’s a nice touch and great for those who like having something with a bit of visual interest, but without it looking like a carnival.
How will this card perform?
We’ve reviewed a different RX 9070 XT here in our testing labs, which we can use to give you a sense of how this ASRock version will perform. In Cyberpunk 2077 at ultra settings, the card got 129fps/ 1440p, 51fps/ 1440p RT, and 61fps/4K, 25fps/ 4K RT. This is very impressive considering this game is very demanding to run, especially with ray tracing enabled. For games that are easier to run, like Doom Eternal, we saw this card get 387fps/ 1440p, 249fps/ 1440p RT, and 228fps/ 4K, 154fps/ 4K RT. Just from these two benchmarks, you can see that this card is quite similar in some respects to the RTX 5070 Ti, although it doesn’t feature GDDR7 VRAM, which is faster and has higher bandwidth. Of course, FSR can be used to push performance higher, which we’d recommend using for 4K resolution gaming, but really, this card is a 1440p powerhouse first and foremost.
