The RTX 5080 is one of the best graphics cards for 4K gaming, and while the RTX 4090 is better, it doesn’t burn a hole in your pocket like the RTX 4090 does. That being said, this is an excellent GPU to look out for, and if you were searching for a deal, the ASUS TUF RTX 5080 OC is currently on sale on Amazon with 16% slashed off its price.

Originally, this GPU would’ve set you back $1,599.99, but with this deal, you can snatch it for $1,349.95, which is the lowest price ever for the card. This isn’t far off from its MSRP of $999, making it an excellent deal to consider. That being said, we’re seeing great early Black Friday GPU deals starting to pop up if you’re interested in exploring more options.

Why we liked the ASUS TUF RTX 5080 OC

The RTX 5080 is a great card; you get plenty of firepower for various tasks. We’ve reviewed the RTX 5080 FE and the ASUS ROG Astral RTX 5080 OC. While fundamentally they are the same, the ASUS variant we tested has a boost clock speed of 2,790 MHz, while the ASUS TUF RTX 5080 has a 2,730 MHz.

This isn’t a lot different, and the output should be the same, more or less, as the RTX 5080 FE has a 2,617 MHz boost clock speed, and they were neck and neck in some tests, which we’ll showcase right now. In Cyberpunk 2077, we got 72 and 75 FPS at 4K, respectively. F1 24 ran at 84 and 80 FPS, which shows that just because the latter is overclocked, it doesn’t mean it’ll always have the better performance, as there are plenty of other variables that come into play.

So, gaming at 4K isn’t an issue for this GPU, and when it comes to productivity, it is the same. In Blender Monster, we got 4,462.60 and 4,580.27 points with the FE and Astral variants, respectively. In the HandBrake Tears of Steel 4K render, the time difference wasn’t a lot, as the FE completed it in 1:43 while the Astral OC shaved off 3 seconds with a completion time of 1:40.

Overall, the ASUS TUF RTX 5080 OC should showcase similar or close to these numbers, and you should be set for a good couple of years with this GPU in your rig.

Is this a good deal?

This is one of the best RTX 5080 deals we’ve seen because it is very close to its MSRP. That being said, grabbing one at MSRP is ideal, but if you can’t find one, then as close to $999 is the way to go. This is just like any other RTX 5080 and should be able to easily handle anything you put in its path, whether that is gaming, 3D rendering, LLM training, or more.
