If you were waiting for the perfect time to grab a budget-friendly gaming laptop, then the time is now because the Black Friday gaming laptop deals are live, and there are some great offers to check out. The ASUS V16 gaming laptop got the Black Friday treatment as it had 16% slashed from its original price of $1,249.99, meaning that it is up for grabs for $1,049.43 right now.
This gaming laptop is powered by the Core 7 240H processor and the RTX 5060 and features a 16″ WUXGA display. So, considering all of this, we think it is a very reasonable ask and a great option for price-conscious buyers.
ASUS V16 Gaming Laptop
- The Core 7 240H is a very efficient processor
- The RTX 5060 should deliver a strong 1080p gaming experience
- Doesn’t burn a hole in your pocket
- Not meant for very heavy workflows
- Comes with only 512GB of storage
Why you should consider the ASUS V16 gaming laptop
We liked this gaming laptop because it has decent hardware under the hood and also keeps the price tag very affordable. It has a 16″ WUXGA display, meaning it has a 1920 x 1200 resolution, giving it a 16:10 aspect ratio. The main benefit of this aspect ratio is that it makes the screen more spacious, which results in a better gaming and working experience.
Besides that, it is also a great fit for the RTX 5060 because this is the sweetspot for this entry-level GPU, and it should be able to run any game at 1080p without needing DLSS 4 or MFG. So, feel free to max out the game settings for a better-looking game, and if the framerate drops, you’ll always have the upscaling technologies for a better gaming experience.
The Core 7 240H processor will handle the productivity side of things, as it has 10 cores and 16 threads with a humble TDP of 45W. However, it can ramp up to 115W, which is still efficient but allows the cores more power when the workloads call for it. The main pain point of this gaming laptop is that it only has 512GB of storage. This isn’t enough for the modern landscape, and we’d recommend checking out the Black Friday SSD deals to upgrade it as soon as possible.

Is this deal worth the price?
Considering everything that this gaming laptop has to offer, we think it is a decent offer, but the 512GB storage will be a deal breaker for many. This is just enough for the OS and maybe one or two games before you’ll start to run out of space. Depending on the title, you might only get to install one title, and there are applications we need to consider for work as well. So, this isn’t a great option, but the rest of the components are solid and should deliver a good experience.
