What we like about this Zotac Mek gaming PC
Amazing price-to-performance GPU for 4K
The RTX 5080 is a great card for 4K gaming and is significantly cheaper than the RTX 5090 as well. While the likes of the RTX 5070Ti can be used for 4K gaming, the RTX 5080’s raw performance without the use of DLSS and MFG is much more impressive. To give you an idea, we can use our own RTX 5080 FE review. In our benchmarks, with Cyberpunk 2077 at ultra settings, the 5080 achieved 72fps at 4K and 35fps at 4K with ray tracing enabled. When you throw DLSS and MFG in the mix, it drastically increases fps. With Shadow of the Tomb Raider, for example, we saw it jump up from 91fps at 4K with ray tracing to 181fps at 4K with ray tracing with DLSS performance. Overall, it’s an excellent card, well worth going for if you want something better for 4K than the RTX 5070Ti, but not as pricey as the RTX 5090.
Great gaming processor for the price
Generally speaking, with RTX 5080 builds, we tend to see either the Ryzen 7 9800X3D or Intel Core Ultra 7 265KF, but Zotac has decided to go for the Ryzen 7 9700X here instead. This is a good choice for gaming, and boasts a decent core and thread count (8 +16), high boost clock speed of 5.5GHz, large 32MB L3 cache, and decent 65W TDP. In our review, we found it to have, unsurprisingly, very strong single-core performance, and it was surprisingly efficient, too. For a good gaming CPU that doesn’t drive up the overall price of the build, this is a great option, but for those looking for something for heavy multitasking, you may want to lean towards the Intel Core Ultra 7 265KF, as it has a much higher core and thread count.

Good, but not overkill, amount of RAM and storage
What’s great to see with this build is that Zotac has gone for the ideal amount of RAM and storage for most people. You’re getting 32GB of DDR5 RAM here, with surprisingly fast memory speeds of 6400MHz, which will be excellent for games with large asset libraries and for general system responsiveness. You’re also getting a decent-sized 2TB SSD, which, for reference, could hold around twenty large AAA games. This is more than enough for most people, and won’t require you to upgrade and spend more on a larger SSD anytime soon.
Who’s this deal for?
Zotac always gives you a lot of bang-for-your-buck, and as far as RTX 5080 prebuilds go, this is one of the more affordable options we’ve come across. Coming in at $2,399.99, this is roughly $300 to $500 cheaper than some of the other Ryzen 7 9800X3D alternatives, but it’s still very much designed with gaming performance in mind. If you’re sticking to a budget of under $2500 and want something for 4K gaming, this is a great deal to jump on.
