ASUS TUF Gaming 32″ 1440P HDR Curved Monitor (VG32VQ1B)
What we like about this monitor
- Curved display: This monitor features a 1500R curve, which means it’s not too aggressive as some other options around this size. That’s good, as it makes this monitor far more versatile for usage outside of just gaming. For example, watching content on a very harsh curve can be a bit jarring, but it’s incredibly immersive for gaming. The 1500R curve here is a great balance that will give you some immersion without detracting from other uses.
- 1440p: Arguably the go-to resolution for most people as it allows them to keep frame-rates high and doesn’t mean they need a hugely expensive PC build either. At 32-inches, resolution should look decent too, but it’s worth considering a 27″ screen if you really want to get the most out of it.
- 165hz: This monitor supports 144hz and a bit more, which is great for higher fps gaming. If you’re in to first-person shooters, this is a game-changer and can even give you a competitive edge.
- Freesync Premium: AMD’s adaptive sync technology is a must have to reduce screen tearing, which can occur when frames go very high or very low.
- 1ms response time: Pretty standard in all honesty for the price. On screen movement should look very fluid on this – again, great for more competitive gaming and anything fast-paced.
- Shadow Boost Technology: This allows you to brighten dark areas of the game, without overexposing bright areas. That means that you can potentially see enemies lurking in dark spots – and eliminate them for the win!
Who’s this deal for?
This monitor was already affordable in some respects, so if you’re looking for a solid 1440p monitor for your setup and sticking to a budget, this is brilliant deal for you. It’s been tumbling in price since November 2024, so we’d expect it to drop closer to its all time low pretty soon, but that’s an extra $20 saved which you may not be too concerned about. All in all, it’s a great monitor to pair with a mid-range build that gives you everything you need, in addition to be packed with useful gamer-orientate features that we think you’d actually put to use.
