Budget-friendly 50-series graphics card
The RTX 5060 8GB graphics card is a good option for those who want something primarily for 1080p gaming at high settings, and also want to get access to some of the improvements the 50-series has made over the previous generations. This card features 3840 cores, 8GB of GDDR7, a 128-bit bus, and a 2280/ 2497MHz boost clock, and is built on Nvidia’s new Blackwell architecture. The most notable improvements are with its new, faster, high-bandwidth VRAM, its new AI-based features such as DLSS and MFG, and its overall efficiency.
Intel Core i5-14400F
This processor features 10 cores, 16 threads, a 20MB L3 cache, and a 4.7Ghz boost clock speed. It’s a good CPU for 1080p gaming, but it’s also not bad when it comes to multitasking, thanks to its relatively high core and thread count, at least for the money that is. If you’re planning on using this PC for content creation, video editing, and general productivity, this is a great processor to have at your disposal.
Decent amount of RAM and storage
This build goes for 16GB of DDR5 RAM, which is actually not bad for a build under $1000. This will be enough to keep your system running smoothly, even with loads of tabs and applications running at the same time; however, for more demanding games, like simulators and massive open-world titles, you may want to consider upgrading to 32GB. Its SSD is also pretty good, but not massive. It’ll be enough if you’re playing a few games on rotation, but not very good for larger gaming libraries, unless they’re full of Indie titles.
Stylish design
If you’re going for something more affordable, it still has to look good, and Thermaltake has created something that we think ticks all the boxes. Clean lines, a good amount of fans and cooling, a clear view into the inner workings of the PC, and RGB all add up to a very stylish prebuilt gaming PC that will look great in any setup.
How will this PC perform?
We haven’t got our hands on an RTX 5060 8GB to test just yet, so we’ll have to defer to other benchmarks to give you a sense of what to expect. In Cyberpunk 2077 at 1080p, ultra, with ray tracing, it was able to get 44fps. F1 24 at 1080p, ultra settings got 91fps with ray tracing, and Shadow of the Tomb Raider got 195fps at 1080p, ultra settings, with no ray tracing. As mentioned, for 1080p it’s great, but the limited VRAM will be the main issue when you start gaming at higher resolutions.
Who’s this deal for?
This deal is going to be great for anyone who wants something for 1080p gaming at high fps and high settings, but also wants to have a processor that’s good for content creation and multitasking, all for under $1000. Now you can get cheaper builds which have an RTX 5060 8GB; however, from our experience, they tend to feature much lower-end, older Ryzen CPUs, and sometimes they even have DDR4 RAM, too. For the sake of saving an extra $100, we’d say it’s not really worth it, but it all depends on your budget and what you want out of the PC.
