Sonos Move 2 Bluetooth speaker
The Move 2 delivers impressive audio quality considering its portable design. The stereo speaker configuration produces a wider soundstage than most portable competitors, while the woofer provides strong low-frequency performance without overwhelming mids and vocals. Trueplay tuning helps maintain audio quality across different environments, and the 24-hour battery life allows for extended use without frequent charging. The combination of Wi-Fi streaming, Bluetooth support, AirPlay compatibility, and multi-room functionality makes it one of the most versatile portable speakers currently available.
What we like about the Sonos Move 2
Significantly improved stereo sound
One of the biggest upgrades over the original Move is the new acoustic architecture. Rather than relying on a single tweeter, the Move 2 incorporates dual tweeters that create true stereo separation from a single speaker enclosure. This allows vocals, instruments, and sound effects to occupy more distinct positions in the soundstage, creating a noticeably wider and more immersive listening experience. Combined with the precision-tuned woofer, the speaker is capable of delivering surprisingly deep bass for its size.

Excellent battery life
Battery life is one of the Move 2’s strongest selling points. Sonos quotes up to 24 hours of playback, effectively doubling the endurance of the first-generation model. This makes it much more practical for outdoor gatherings, travel, garden use, camping trips, and all-day listening sessions. The included charging base also simplifies day-to-day use by providing a dedicated dock whenever the speaker returns indoors.
Automatic Trueplay optimization
Sonos continues to leverage its Trueplay technology, which automatically analyzes the surrounding environment and adjusts the speaker’s sound profile accordingly. Whether the Move 2 is positioned indoors, on a patio, in a kitchen, or near reflective surfaces, the speaker continuously optimizes its tuning to maintain balanced audio reproduction. This helps it sound consistently good without requiring manual EQ adjustments.
Designed for indoor and outdoor use
Unlike many portable speakers that focus solely on portability, the Move 2 feels more like a premium home speaker that can travel. Its IP56 rating protects against dust, rain, splashes, and dirt, while shock-resistant construction helps it survive accidental bumps and drops. The integrated carrying handle also makes it easy to move between rooms or take outdoors.
Flexible connectivity options
The Move 2 supports both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi operation, giving it more flexibility than many competing portable speakers. When connected via Wi-Fi, users gain access to the broader Sonos ecosystem, including multi-room audio, AirPlay support, voice assistants, and higher-quality streaming. Bluetooth mode allows it to function like a traditional portable speaker when away from home.
Who’s this Sonos Move 2 deal suitable for?
The Sonos Move 2 is ideal for users who want a premium speaker that can function equally well as a home audio device and a portable Bluetooth speaker. It is particularly appealing to people already invested in the Sonos ecosystem, though it also works very well as a standalone speaker for travel, outdoor entertaining, and everyday listening.
