If you’re operating on a strict spending limit but want a capable graphics card for gaming and work, we recommend you check out the Intel Arc B580. When this GPU dropped, it knocked the RTX 4060 and the RX 7600 XT as the go-to budget options because it cost less but had better performance.

In our Intel Arc B580 review, this graphics card was able to push 4K in select titles where the RTX 4060 couldn’t. Currently, it is on sale with 5% off, dropping its price from $388.99 to $369.95.

Intel Arc B580 performance

The variant we tested was the Sparkle Intel Arc B580 Titan OC, which had a higher boost clock speed, but that can be achieved by using software like MSI Afterburner, and you can save cost by not opting for a factory OC option.

Gaming performance

To test its gaming output, we paired it with the Ryzen 7 7800X3D and ran a couple of games at 1080p, 1440p, and 4K. In Doom Eternal, this GPU delivered 225, 166, and 90 FPS in the three resolutions. For comparison, the RTX 4060 delivered 198 at FHD and 150 FPS at QHD. It couldn’t push 4K, most likely due to being limited to 8GB VRAM.

In Shadow of the Tomb Raider, we got 135, 96, and 54 FPS, and the 4060 managed 136, 87, and 39 FPS. So, as the graphical fidelity increased, the 4060 started to fall behind, and that was the general trend between these GPUs, with the B580 being the overall victor.

Synthetic performance

Synthetic testing was conducted by running 3DMark, HandBrake, and Blender 4.3. However, we’ll use the results of 3DMark. In Fire Strike Ultra and Time Spy Extreme, both of which gauge a GPU’s ability to render 4K frames but with DX11 and DX12, respectively, this graphics card managed 7,971 and 6,916 points.

In Port Royal, which is for testing real-time ray tracing capabilities, we got 7,913 points while the RTX 4060 delivered 6,282 points. So, the B580 is much better at Ray Tracing than the RTX 4060.

Should you get this deal?

This is a great deal, especially considering the performance the B580 delivered in our review. This isn’t the cheapest variant out there, so if you can find a B580 at a lower price point, we’d recommend you opt for that. However, if you go with this option, you should have a smooth working and gaming experience.
