Table of Contents
Everyone’s favorite gaming CPU has dropped in price again on Amazon, hitting its lowest of the year well ahead of Prime Day. The Ryzen 7 7800X3D is by far one of the best mid-range processor picks for gaming and was once the go-to for high-performance builds. Right now, it’s down from $449.00 to $359.99, marking another significant drop in price this year.
There’s a lot to like about this CPU, which boasts AMD’s signature X3D V-cache, and at this price it’s a big win for anyone looking to build a powerful gaming PC, but without spending too much cash.

AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D 8-Core, 16-Thread Desktop Processor
What we like about the Ryzen 7 7800X3D
The Ryzen 7 7800X3D has a lot going for it and despite being a little older, it’s still a great pairing with even the best GPUs on the market. In our review, we were particular impressed by its single core performance, and it handled other multi-tasking admirably too. That being said there are obviously more appropriate options for productivity from AMD if you’re looking for something for video-editing, rendering, or handling large amounts of complex data.
Overall, the Ryzen 7 7800X3D is still an incredible processor, especially for the price, and one we’d recommend if you’re looking for something to handle higher fps gaming.
- Core CPU specs: 8 cores, 16 threads, 5 GHz boost clock, 96MB L3 cache, and 120 TDP.
- Amazing for gaming: This processor excels at gaming thanks to its single core performance and massive L3 cache.
- AM5 platform: Pair this with the right motherboard and you won’t have to swap it out for sometime, even if you upgrade to a new AMD CPU.
- Access to the latest gen tech: AM5 compatible motherboard often come with DDR5 RAM, Gen5 NVMe, and PCIe 5.0 connectivity. Choosing the CPU unlocks top-tier components for your build, many of which are discounted nowadays.
Who’s this deal for and is it the best time to buy?
If you’re sticking to a mid-range budget and want to build a high-performance AM5 gaming PC, then this is absolutely the CPU for you. This processor gives you everything you’d need for years to come and allows you to upgrade your GPU without having to also upgrade your CPU at the same time.
As you can see from the graph above, it’s also the best time to buy this CPU this year, as it’s hit its lowest price of 2025. Prime Day is on the horizon, and it may drop further, but we’d be surprised if it were by much. In my view, it’s not worth waiting for if you’re looking to experience all this CPU has to offer.
