The deal is for the slate version of this GPS smartwatch, which features a design scaled down from the original Garmin Venu model. The SQ version has a square display and includes many of the same core sensors but with slightly less memory onboard, removal of the AMOLED screen, and better battery life.

Another option in the line of budget Garmin products is the Garmin Lily, which cuts further features from the SQ but is a better option if you are looking for a watch that has a smaller face and will be more discreet.

The Venu SQ hits the mark well for midrange features in a sport-tracking smartwatch. It has storage for up to 500 songs and looks a little less impressive than the standard Venu, but it has a robust design for its price point, which is half of what the traditional Venu retails for.
