Pre-built gaming PCs are an excellent alternative to putting together your own, as you can bypass the technicalities and hurdles of purchasing multiple components after thoroughly checking for compatibility and other intricate details. That being said, while it does save you the effort of building a PC, it doesn’t mean that they have less of an impact on your pockets.
However, with the Amazon Spring Sales in full swing, there are plenty of components with massive discounts, and the same goes for gaming PCs. We spotted this ASUS ROG G22 gaming PC with an 18% discount, dropping its price from $2,199.99 to $1,799.99. So, you’ll save $400 with this deal, which you can direct towards a new gaming monitor, headset, or keyboard.

What we like about this gaming PC
- RTX 4070: The G22 gaming PC features an RTX 4070, and we’ve thoroughly tested and reviewed one for our RTX 4070 review. It has decent performance at 4K, but 1440p is more suited for it, which isn’t surprising given that it is a mid-range GPU.
That being said, it managed 144 FPS in Doom Eternal, 64 FPS in AC: Mirage, 76 FPS in Shadow of the Tomb Raider, and 57 FPS in The Finals. While the inclusion of DLSS 4 should ramp these numbers up, 2K seems to be the sweet spot for this GPU, but it is still capable of pushing 4K depending on the title. - Intel Core i7-13700KF: While we haven’t reviewed the 13700KF, we have reviewed the 13700K. The reason we’re comparing these two is that the only difference between them is that the “KF” doesn’t have integrated graphics, while the “K” does. Besides that, they have the same number of cores and threads and clock speeds.
When we tested the 13700K paired with the RTX 4070 Ti Super, we got 292 and 325 FPS in Days Gone and Cyberpunk 2077 at 1080p low settings, which indicates that it could easily keep up with the GPU. So, the 13700KF paired with the RTX 4070 should also deliver excellent gaming output at 4K, 1440p, and 1080p. - 32GB DRR5 RAM: This gaming PC features 32GB of DDR5 RAM, and while some would prefer more system memory, this is more than enough for gaming and other resource-intensive workflows. That being said, you can always add more or swap this out for higher capacity memory modules.
- SFX: The ASUS G22 is a short form factor gaming PC, meaning it is smaller than a mid-tower PC and has dimensions of 11.30″ x 4.53″ (H x W). So, if you’re short on space in your house, room, or working space, this should make for an excellent addition.
- I/O: There is no shortage of connections with this gaming PC. It features 2 x USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A, 1 x USB 3.2 Gen2x1 Type C, and 1 x headset port in the front. In the back, we get 1 x HDMI 2.0, 2 x USB 2.0 Type-A, 2 x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A, 1 x RJ45 port, and 3 x 7.1 audio jacks. In addition, it has Dolby Atmos and Two-Way AI Noise Cancellation technology, which would provide crisp and interruption-free audio quality during meetings, gaming, and other activities.
Should you get the ASUS ROG G22 gaming PC?
The RTX 4070 or the i7-13700K aren’t the latest or the fastest components out there, but they make for a powerful combination of working and gaming. You should be able to play games at 4K with this gaming PC, but depending on the title, you might need to leverage DLSS 3 for better frame rates.
That being said, this setup should keep you engaged for a couple of years as people are still playing games with their GTX 1080, and you can always swap out some components for better performance, such as increasing the storage or the RAM. Overall, this seems like a good gaming PC with pretty good mid-range components.
