Great value Alienware RTX-50 series laptop drops under $1,200 with Amazon deal
Table of Contents
We’ve spotted an excellent and rare deal on one of Alienware’s RTX 5060 Aurora laptops that we think is well worth your time, if you’re looking for an entry-level option for FHD gaming. Right now, there’s a limited-time deal on Amazon that has dropped its price 16% down to $1,189.99, which is very reasonable considering what this laptop brings to the table.
Not only does it have a graphics card that’s able to power through games at high settings and high fps, with the use of DLSS and MFG, but it also packs a good Intel Core 7 processor, ample RAM and storage, plus a surprisingly bright WQXGA display. On top of that, it’s designed with portability in mind, unlike some other bulkier options on the market. Overall, we think it’s a real winner for the price.

What we like about this Alienware 16 Aurora laptop
GPU
The GPU here is the RTX 5060 8GB mobile, which is a good card for 1080p at high settings and fps, without breaking the bank. Generally speaking, you really need DLSS 4 and MFG to get the most out of these cards, and when you do, they perform very well, especially for the price. We’ve stumbled across testing on other RTX 5060 laptops that could get Cyberpunk 2077 at high settings to 193fps with ray tracing enabled, which is seriously impressive.
Overall, as far as an entry-level graphics card goes, this is about as good as it gets for the money right now for 1080p gaming.
CPU
The processor is the Intel Core 7-240H Series 2, which is a good CPU to have if you’re looking for gaming performance. It has 10 cores, 16 threads, a 45W TDP, 5.2GHz boost clock, and 24MB L3 cache. Overall, this is a well-balanced option for this build that’ll pair nicely with the RTX 5060, but you may want to explore processors with a higher core and thread count if you plan on using your laptop for more than just gaming.

Display
There’s a lot to like about this screen with this laptop, especially as it gives you everything you need without being overkill. It’s a smaller WQXGA (2560×1600), 120Hz IPS display with a decent 300 nits of brightness. That’s going to give you everything you need for both high fps gaming, watching content, and more. It has 100% sRGB color, which isn’t bad, but not the best if you’re planning on using this for professional-level creative work, but that’s not a deal killer at this price point in our eyes.
Storage, RAM, and other features
In this model, you’ve got 16GB of DDR5 RAM with 5600 MT/s speeds, plus a decent-sized 1TB NVMe SSD, which can realistically hold around five AAA titles alongside other files. Not bad for casual usage, which is what this laptop is aimed at.
Who’s this deal for?
For the price, this is a very good option for someone who wants to game on the go, but doesn’t fancy shelling out upwards of $2000 for an RTX 5070 or RTX 5080 model, which would both be more for 1440p gaming and heavy-duty video editing and rendering. What’s more, this is one of the sleeker-looking gaming laptops we’ve come across, sharing more in common with an ultrabook in terms of design than some of the bulkier alternatives. We’d put a premium price point on that alone.
As mentioned, deals on Alienware laptops can be pretty rare, and they’re not always too punchy either. We’d say it’s a great time to go for it, if you’re considering, but be sure to check out our other gaming laptop discounts below if you’re still deciding.
