This processor is based on the Zen 4 architecture and features 16 cores, all of which are hyperthreaded, meaning you get 32 cores to work with. This gives this processor excellent multi-core output, and compared to Intel alternatives, it has a relatively low TDP of 170W.
While we haven’t tested the 7950X ourselves, there are plenty of online reviews available, all of which paint its performance in a great light. In the Cinebench R23 multi-core test, this processor managed 38,165 points. On the other hand, while paired with an RTX 3090 Ti, it managed 114 FPS in F1 22, running at 1080p low settings.
So, the 7950X has a very well-rounded performance, and these figures were taken from TechSpot, but wherever you check, you’ll see that this CPU doesn’t disappoint.

Is this deal worth it?
The Ryzen 9 7950X is a powerful processor, and while the 9950X might overshadow it, it doesn’t mean that it performs any less, and if you’re getting a huge discount on it, it makes it even more worth it. It can be easily paired with any modern GPU without running into bottleneck issues but if you’re pairing it with the likes of the RTX 5090, then you’ll be playing at 4K and that resolution, the GPU is pulling most of the weight.
