It looks like now may be the best time to buy the Intel Core Ultra 7 265K, as it’s fallen to its lowest ever price on Amazon. Released last year, this CPU has been slowly coming down in price, making it much more appealing from a cost to performance perspective. Originally going for $404, this is now down to $324, saving you a solid $80 on its original list price.

As far as CPUs go, this is one of the latest from Intel and is the middle of the pack option from its Ultra series. It’s a punchy processor that doesn’t cost the absolute earth, making it ideal for mid-range gaming and productivity setups.

What we like about the Intel Core Ultra 7 265K

We reviewed this CPU and were impressed with its offering as a mid-range option. Most notably, we found that it had strong multi-core performance against the Ryzen 9700X, was a cost-effective option for multi-threaded workloads, and as extremely efficient too.

Its gaming performance is decent, but there are certainly better options out there for a similar price-point, such as the Ryzen 7 7800X3D, which has been spotted at its lowest price ever recently. However, if you’re looking for a CPU that handle tasks like video-editing, multi-tasking, 3D modelling, and run cool while doing so, this is a great option if you’re sticking to a budget below $350.

  • Core specs: 20 cores (8 P-cores + 12 E-cores), up to 5.5 GHz, 36MB Cache, 125W base/250W max TDP.
  • Future facing: This is built for the LGA 1851 socket, so you can pair this with the very latest motherboards and get access to everything from the fastest NVMe SSDs and RAM.
  • A better time to buy: Compatible LGA 1851 motherboards are seeing way more deals and discounts recently, as they’ve been out for a while, meaning your system refresh can be done for less.
  • Excellent efficiency: In comparison to the Intel 14th gen alternative, this CPU runs very cool even under heavy loads.

Should you go for this deal?

If you’re looking for a mid-range, versatile processor for your PC and plan on grabbing a future-facing LGA 1851 motherboard, then this is a good deal to go for. As you can see from the graph above, this CPU has been tumbling in price since its release, and I’d say it’s bang on the money for what it offers in terms of performance.
