Lenovo Legion 5 RTX 5060 Pro Gaming Laptop

15.1 OLED WQXGA(2560 x 1600) 165Hz, AMD Ryzen 7 260(Beats Intel i7-14700), NVIDIA RTX 5060, 32GB DDR5 RAM,1TB SSD, Wi-Fi 7, Bundle PCO Laptop Cooler

What we like about this Lenovo Legion 5 gaming laptop

Excellent entry-level 50-series GPU

The RTX 5060 mobile is a great graphics card to go for if you’re looking for something more cost-effective in the 50-series lineup. It features 3328 cores, 8GB of GDDR7 memory, a 128-bit bus, and 952MHz base/ 1455 MHz boost clock. This mobile GPU is built on Nvidia’s new Blackwell architecture, which means it gives it a leg up on the 40-series, as you’re getting higher bandwidth and faster GDDR7 VRAM, and access to DLSS and MFG, which can significantly improve performance. When it comes to gaming, you can expect good performance at 1080p and for it to be able to handle 1440p with DLSS enabled, but of course, the small 8GB of VRAM may be a limiting factor with more demanding titles.

Decent CPU for gaming

This laptop features the Ryzen 7 260, which is a good option to go for if you’re looking for something primarily for gaming. It features 8 cores and 16 threads, a very high boost clock of 5.1GHz, and a relatively large 16MB L3 cache. It’s a good CPU to have for gaming and general usage, and it’s also an efficient option that should help keep battery usage down.

Stunning screen

Lenovo Legion laptops tend to have amazing screens, and this is no different. You’ve got a 15.1-inch OLED display here, with WQXGA resolution and a high 165Hz refresh rate. What’s more, it also has 100% DCI-P3 color, which makes it an excellent option for content creators or creative professionals, especially those working in video or photo editing. Add that to a 500 nits peak brightness, and you’ve got a real winner here.

Loads of RAM and decent storage

To keep everything running smoothly for both gaming and multi-tasking, this laptop ops for a whopping 32GB of DDR5 RAM, and there’s also a decent-sized 1TB SSD, which should be enough for relatively large gaming libraries, alongside all your other files.

Who’s this deal for?

We think this gaming laptop would be great for anyone interested in a 50-series model, but who wants to make sure they’re also getting a quality screen for both gaming and content creation. This is a very versatile pick, in our view, and for $1,287.99, we think you’re getting a lot of bang for your buck. If you’re looking for something a little more punchy for gaming, you may want to explore some of the RTX 5070 models instead, which are more expensive but generally more capable with more demanding titles.
