The LG 32GX Ultragear is a premium 32-inch OLED gaming monitor designed for gamers who don’t want to choose between high-resolution visuals and extremely high refresh rates. Key features and highlights of the LG 32GX Ultragear
The Dual Mode functionality is what really separates the 32GX from a conventional 4K gaming monitor. At 4K 240Hz, you can prioritize image quality for story-driven games, RPGs, open-world titles, and anything else where fine detail matters. When competitive performance matters more than resolution, you can switch to Full HD at up to 480Hz using a hotkey. Dropping the resolution makes it easier for a powerful gaming PC to produce extremely high frame rates, while 480Hz allows the monitor to display those additional frames.
The 0.03ms GtG response time makes the high refresh rates even more useful. OLED pixels can change extremely quickly compared with many conventional LCD panels, helping reduce ghosting and visible trails behind fast-moving objects. Image quality is another major reason to consider the 32GX. Its OLED panel can individually control the light produced by each pixel, allowing black pixels to effectively turn off. This results in a claimed 1.5 million-to-one contrast ratio, giving dark environments significantly more depth.

LG has also used Micro Lens Array+ technology to improve OLED brightness. The monitor is rated for around 275 nits of typical brightness and can reach up to 1,300 nits of peak brightness under the appropriate conditions. Higher peak brightness allows small HDR highlights, such as explosions, reflections, lights, and other bright effects, to stand out more strongly against OLED’s deep blacks.
LG has also included support for both Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro. These technologies allow the monitor’s refresh rate to stay synchronized with the frame rate being produced by your graphics card. This helps reduce screen tearing and stuttering when frame rates fluctuate.
Is this OLED monitor worth getting?
The LG 32GX is worth considering for gamers who play both visually demanding AAA games and fast competitive titles. Instead of choosing between a 4K monitor for image quality and a lower-resolution esports monitor for speed, Dual Mode gives you 4K at up to 240Hz and Full HD at up to 480Hz in one display.
The OLED panel, 0.03ms response time, up to 1,300-nit peak brightness, deep blacks, adaptive-sync support, and DisplayPort 2.1 further strengthen the package. You’ll need powerful hardware to make full use of 4K 240Hz or 480 FPS, so this type of monitor makes the most sense alongside a high-end gaming PC.
