Lightning-quick 2TB Samsung 9100 PRO has fallen in cost again, finding a new low price
Table of Contents
On arrival in April, Samsung’s 9100 Pro range of SSDs quickly established itself with some of the best NVMe SSD drives on the market. They also quickly found a discount, helping to sweeten the deal.
The initial price drop for the new arrivals has been followed by a subsequent fall, in which we’ve spotted the Samsung SSD 9100 Pro with Heatsink 2TB with a further $30 off. First introduced as a $320 SSD, the speedy PCIe Gen 5 part is now down to $260, a full $60 below its list price.

Samsung SSD 9100 PRO with Heatsink 2TB
Why we love the 9100 PRO with Heatsink 2TB
The 2TB with heatsink variant of the 9100 Pro series offers (probably) the most popular SSD storage capacity, and the well-noted 9100 Pro performance with a built-in heatsink to help ensure a cooler surface area for optimal operating temperatures.
- stunning speeds – Samsung’s 9100 Pro with heatsink 2TB drive is rated for speeds up to 14,800/13,400 MB/s sequential read/write speeds. That's more than twice the speed of some PCIe Gen 4 drives, making it ideal for high-performance environments.
- Laptop or PC compatible – This NVMe SSD is the M.2 2280 variety, which will fit in laptops or a PC’s M.2 slot.
- PCIe Gen 5 – This drive supports the PCIe Gen 5.0 standard and requires a system that supports it to achieve rated speeds.
- Endurance rating – The 9100 Pro with heatsink 2TB has a 1200 TBW endurance rating. So, it would take 1200 days (3.28 years) of filling this drive (from empty, every day) for the rating to be met.
- Built-in heatsink – The heatsink on this 9100 Pro 2TB will help to dissipate air away from the surface to maintain high performance.
Who is this 2TB SSD deal for?
There are a few key considerations if you’re looking at picking up this SSD. The first is that your system needs to support the latest PCIe Gen 5.0 standard supported by the latest motherboards. The second is that the Samsung 9100 Pro series is phenomenally quick, making it ideal for workstations or situations where every second is needed.
Neither of the above means you can’t use the drive in your home PC, but there are also more affordable alternatives that offer a little less in terms of performance. At the deal price, though, this is the best so far for the drive, making it a good time to buy if you’ve been tracking it. Alternatively, if you’re confident in your cooling and don’t need the heatsink, the non-heatsink model is $20 less.
