Table of Contents
RTX 4060 gaming laptops are the way to go if you want something budget friendly that’ll handle 1080p gaming on the go. Not only that, but they’re actually pretty good at handling it at higher settings and higher fps too, making them a great pick if you’re sticking to a budget, but still want solid performance.
This Micro Center deal has nerfed the price of a quality Acer Nitro gaming laptop down from $1,299.99 to $899.99, saving you $400. That places this RTX 4060 gaming laptop towards the lower end relative to other options on the market. Considering it packs a great 120Hz display, 16GB of RAM, WIFI 6E connectivity, and more, we think it’s great value for money.

Acer Nitro 14 AN14-41-R74Z 14.5″ Gaming Laptop Computer – Obsidian Black
What we like about the Acer Nitro 14
Acer Nitro is a brilliant place to start your search for a wallet-friendly gaming laptop. It basically goes all in on performance, but skips some of the bells and whistles you’d see in its Acer Predator line. They’re more ‘basic’ offerings, but they still deliver the goods when it comes to gaming.
This gaming laptop ticks all the right boxes, but scales back a little in some areas like the size of the internal SSD and the CPU. That’s not going to be an issue for most people, but if you’re looking for more of hybrid laptop for both gaming and heavy-duty workloads, you may want to explore some alternatives. Overall though, for FHD gaming at higher frames per second, this laptop is a real winner.
- Excellent GPU: The RTX 4060 mobile, depending on the configuration, is arond the same as an RTX 3050 desktop GPU, and is more than cable of handling 1080p at high fps.
- Decent CPU: The Ryzen 7 884HS has 4 cores, 8 threads, a 5.1 GHz boost clock, and 16MB L3 cache. It’ll be good for gaming in 1080p, but not the absolute best for multi-tasking.
- Good screen: Features an IPS display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Everything you need for gaming.
- Latest RAM: This laptop packs 16GB of DDR5 RAM for faster overall system performance.
- Okay SSD: At 512GB, it’s not the biggest, but it is large enough to store around five AAA-titles.
Who’s this deal for?
As far as budget gaming laptops go, this is a good option that’ll be ideal for gaming on the go, and great value for money with this new deal. If you wanted something a little more punchy, you’ll have to up your budget towards the $1200 – $1500 range for an RTX 4070 model. These would be the best choice if you want to game in 1440p, but still keep costs down.
Overall, a cracking deal, and one well worth considering if you’re dipping your toe into the world of gaming laptops.
